Manny Pacquaio Refuses Drug Testing

The challenge has been accepted, the arena set, so what is posing a threat to the impending most anticipated showdown between two of boxing's greats? A simple drug test.

Breaking news coming from the Mayweather camp is that Manny strongly opposes the "Olympic-style" drug testing being requested by the Mayweather which involves drawing of blood to determine the presence steroids or other performance enhancement drugs before the fight. The reason Pacquiao is refusing to being subjected to a random blood test 30 days prior to the bout as mandated by the US Anti-Doping Agency.

LEGENDARY-PATRIOTS VS SAINTS

It is arguably the "Game of the Year" and tonight its going down in the "Big Easy" as the former Superbowl Champion New England Patriots storm into New Orleans to take on the undefeated New Orleans Saints. The air is electric with anticipation of the Saints continuing their 10 win streak while the Patriots hope to seal their first road win of the season. Both teams are led by two of the most elite quarterbacks in the league and both lack on the run. With squads so evenly matched, the slight edge will go to the red zone offense that can not only push the ball down field but the red zone defense strong enough to enforce it.

REVENGE OF THE FALLEN: RAVENS VS BROWNS

Going from a dominant defense to a defense that has given up a whopping total of 400 yards over 3 consecutive games has been a big blow to the Baltimore Ravens pysche. Last in total defense at 409.1 yards per contest in addition to the loss of key linebackers Eric Barton and D'Qwell Jackson, the Cleveland Browns are far from a playoff contention team. On top of that, the Brady Quinn/ Derek Anderson musical chairs QB experiment has yielded a lackluster 3-4 record. A win tonight will be a saviour to Ravens playoff hopes or a boost in Browns' quest to locate their ever elusive team identity. It's going down this Monday night!

Kareem Abdul Jabbar Battles Cancer

When six time NBA MVP and current special assistant to the World Championship Los Angeles Lakers Kareem Abdul-Jabbar began experiencing hot flashes and sweats on a regular basis, he instantly knew something was wrong. Though his family has a past history of cancer, nothing could prepare him for his diagnosis. After visiting a physician from his alma mater during the late 1960's, UCLA, it was discovered that Kareem's white blood cell count was abnormally high. Without further delay, he was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia called chronic myeloid leukemia, which affects both the blood and bone marrow by producing cancerous blood cells.

BRAIN VS BRAWN:BRONCOS TAKE ON STEELERS

Coming off a sudden end to their undefeated record, the Broncos face a hungry Steelers team led by the league’s second most pass efficient quarterback in Ben Roethslisberger. Roethlisberger's evolution from a pump fake quarterback with as many sacks as completions into a model franchise quarterback that can spread the offense while simultaneously spark the running game, balances the team's offense. Denver has shown and proven that it is a force to be reckoned this season. Although their viewed as the underdog going into tonight's matchup, they currently hold the home field advantage. With the exception of their sloppiness on the punt return, the change in air pressure isn't the only thing the Steelers need to concern themselves with visiting the "Mile High City." Two great defenses, only one can be victorious this Monday night.

UConn Football Star Stabbed To Death

“I felt my hand go on the ball and I felt that I had a chance to get it out. I just stripped it out. It was a big play. We needed it,” UConn Huskies starting cornerback, Jasper Howard said after a 38-25 victory over Louisville Saturday. Howard was integral on assisting his team to cement a homecoming victory for the Huskies but as he and his teammates celebrated in the locker room, no one could predict that his post game interview would be his last.

Around 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning, Howard and another student were stabbed during a fight at an official university sanctioned dance held in the UConn Student Union. 

SHANNON BROWN HIGH FLYING DUNK FACIAL

It was just the thing to bring Lakers fans to their feet. No not another championship ring. Got to wait until June 2010 for that (smile) That thing was in the guise of a one-handed monster dunk Lakers guard, Shannon Brown aka "Young Shannon" unleashed over unsuspecting Warriors power forward, Mikki Moore from just inside the free throw line last night.

The jam was as a result of a steal by Brown from Corey Maggette. Shannon Brown raced down court on a fast break, driving into the lane for the slam that brought Moore to his knees and sent Brown to the ground soon after. Shannon couldn't help but celebrate with a few claps of his own nor could Twitter. Once again Young Shannon was a number one trending topic and not for his likeness to a certain famous ex of Rihanna.

BRAYLON EDWARDS PUNCHES LEBRON'S FRIEND?

There are quite a few things we’ve come to learn about Cleveland Browns wide receiver, Braylon Edwards.

He is an immensely talented athlete who has suddenly developed an acute affinity for dropping the ball more times than a video vixen on the set of Snoop’s latest video.

He has a fetish for bucking authority. Prime example: This past Sunday he was fined a 15 yard penalty for unsportsman-like conduct as a result of getting tangled up with Bengals defensive lineman, Pat Simms in the end zone and that’s not the brunt of the University of Michigan alum’s antics. Despite being ordered not to, he notoriously flew in by helicopter to check out the annual rivalry between his alma mater and Ohio State in 2006.

BATTLE OF THE TUNDRA: PACKERS VS VIKINGS

The moment football fans have been anticipating has arrived, the first showdown between the Old Armslinger’s ex wife, the Greenbay Packers and his new bride, the Minnesota Vikings since his controversial signing with Minnesota at the start of the 2009-10 pre-season. Who will win  Monday Night Football’s ‘Battle of the Tundra’? Will it be the Packers defense featuring the hard hitting Aaron Kapman or the explosive Favre led Vikings offense featuring the virtually unstoppable Adrian Peterson? So far the Packers have won the last four matchups however it will be interesting to see if Favre can go from being ‘Gun Shy’ to ‘Gunslinger’ over the course of one game to fulfill the revenge we all know he and Brad Childress foam at the mouth over.

BLOUNT SUSPENSION=JUSTICE SERVED

Guy taunts guy and taps his shoulder. As the provoker looks away, laughing, the taunted delivers a sucker punch to the guy’s grill in a jaw rocking blow that sends him to his knees. This could easily describe in beer infused brawl outside any college town in America however this scenario took place on Thursday, September 3rd, in front of millions of fans live and on TV in shoulder pads and helmets instead of fitted baseball caps and team logo tees.  Right after losing a penalty and fumble ridden game to rival Boise St, Oregon running back, LeGarette Blount and Boise St’s  sophomore defensive end, Byron Hout got into a scuffle after Hout ridiculed and taunted him. Many people are probably thinking a fight so clearly provoked although certainly unnecessary hardly calls for Blount being suspended from the team for the whole season maybe 4-5 games at best, however I beg to differ for one reason and one reason only – Accountability.
