Pacquiao-Mayweather Not Over Yet

Just when sensational reports were released doubting the likelihood of the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight of the century will happen, breaking news speculates there is still hope. Pacquiao-Mayweather is NOT over yet folks or so it would seem. Rumors have been swirling that Pacquiao was refusing Olympic style drug testing due to his superstition involving drug testing up to 30 days before a match (See Manny Pacquiao Refuses Drug Testing). Various sources in the boxing world including Floyd Mayweather Sr. have openly accused Manny of partaking in the use of steroids/PEDS due to his historic climb to become one of the only champions to win across multiple classes.

The challenge has been accepted, the arena set, so what is posing a threat to the impending most anticipated showdown between two of boxing's greats? A simple drug test.

Breaking news coming from the Mayweather camp is that Manny strongly opposes the "Olympic-style" drug testing being requested by the Mayweather which involves drawing of blood to determine the presence steroids or other performance enhancement drugs before the fight. The reason Pacquiao is refusing to being subjected to a random blood test 30 days prior to the bout as mandated by the US Anti-Doping Agency.

TIGER WOODS TO REVISE PRENUP; PAYS WIFE $5MILLION TO STAY

Since the lid has been blown off of Tiger Woods’ seemingly endless harem of women alleging extra marital trysts with the billionaire golfer, the infidelity scandal firestorm surrounding a once squeaky clean image of arguably the most well-known athlete in the world has taken a torpedo hit big enough to sink a fleet of Somali pirate ships! In a recent statement, Tiger apologized to his wife of five years, former Swedish model, Elin Nordegren for his “transgressions” and involvement in embarrassing their family and promised to be a “better man.” The two have since enrolled in what is reported as intensive marriage counseling to salvage their marriage according to the Chicago-Sun Times. Under normal circumstances, this would be stand up thing to do if the reconciliation didn’t reportedly involve a multi-million dollar pay off to the tune of $5 million Tiger Woods is shelling out to his wife to “stay with him.” Does Tiger have Kobe on speed dial?

Allen Iverson and Grizzlies Anull Marriage

It was shorter than a "I Love Ray J" reality show reject's career however the ill-fated marriage between Allen Iverson and the Memphis Grizzlies is now officially over. Monday, Grizzlies owner and Iverson mutually agreed to go separate ways putting an end to Iverson's 10 day tenure in Memphis of which he only played 3 games before succumbing to a hamstring injury. 

"The Grizzlies and Allen Iverson have come to a mutual agreement that because of personal matters that forced him to leave the team on November 7, Allen will step away from the game at this time, allowing him to focus on those matters," Grizzlies general manager Chris Wallace said in a statement according to USA Today.

The Football gods have heard Mechelle McNair’s cries and a paternity test has proven that Clover Lee’s 17 year daughter, J.N.L is NOT Steve McNair’s illegitimate child. Let athletes’ wives everywhere rejoice.

“We were friends, and I never tried to harm him,” Lee said ”We dated in high school, and we kept it a secret. I knew him before he was an NFL player when he didn’t have a dime. When he got killed, I had no other choice.”

I guess no other choice now would involve picking up the phone and calling those other potential baby daddies but then again, none of them are probably worth $19.6 million dead or alive.

In the most distasteful fashion ever, a new development has popped up just in time to steal some of the spotlight away from new evidence in the Steve McNair murder-suicide case. A Mississippi woman by the name of Clover Lee has stepped forward declaring that McNair fathered her 17 year old daughter (identified only as J.N.L.) and that she deserves her piece of McNair's estate valued at an estimated $19.6 million. The woman is demanding that "all back due support as allowed by law" be paid.

Its one thing to be sexually assaulted or abused and being fearful about coming forward against your attacker however coming forward 17 years after your child is born with the child's alleged paternity is another thing.

UPDATE: Correction to team Clifton Smith plays for. Mistakenly had Jacksonville Jaguars, its the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Time left in the game before the hit occurred was 10 seconds in the first half, not 20 seconds left in the game.

 With all the questionable penalties being called for hits on quarterbacks lately, it was refreshing to see NFL referees take a stance on cheap shots when Carolina Panthers cornerback, Dante Wesley pummeled Tampa Bay Buccaneers ,Clifton Smith with 10 seconds left to go in the first half. Leading with his shoulder, Wesley jumped into Smith with a hit that laid Smith out unmoving and cleared both benches in what was already a physical rivalry between the two AFC South teams. Coaches and referees worked together in on the spot officiating to keep the squads from each others throats and prevented Wesley with getting in further in trouble. The brief altercation ended in Smith being led off the field only to be diagnosed with a concussion and ultimately Dante Wesley ejected from the game.

UConn Football Star Stabbed To Death

“I felt my hand go on the ball and I felt that I had a chance to get it out. I just stripped it out. It was a big play. We needed it,” UConn Huskies starting cornerback, Jasper Howard said after a 38-25 victory over Louisville Saturday. Howard was integral on assisting his team to cement a homecoming victory for the Huskies but as he and his teammates celebrated in the locker room, no one could predict that his post game interview would be his last.

Around 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning, Howard and another student were stabbed during a fight at an official university sanctioned dance held in the UConn Student Union.

The raspy voiced 18 year-old was all smiles as she proudly trailed her country's flag behind her like a symbol of pride, after earning a gold medal in the event. Her happiness would soon be short-lived. No sooner than her World Championships gold been awarded, due to her record times and masculine appearance, questions regarding her gender were already circulating among members of the IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federation). Since being subjected to a gender verification test, reports from two Australian newspaper ('The Daily Telegraph'') have leaked unconfirmed reports that Semenya has an intersex condition, better known as hermaphroditism (having both male and female sex organs/genitalia).

BLOUNT SUSPENSION=JUSTICE SERVED

Guy taunts guy and taps his shoulder. As the provoker looks away, laughing, the taunted delivers a sucker punch to the guy’s grill in a jaw rocking blow that sends him to his knees. This could easily describe in beer infused brawl outside any college town in America however this scenario took place on Thursday, September 3rd, in front of millions of fans live and on TV in shoulder pads and helmets instead of fitted baseball caps and team logo tees.  Right after losing a penalty and fumble ridden game to rival Boise St, Oregon running back, LeGarette Blount and Boise St’s  sophomore defensive end, Byron Hout got into a scuffle after Hout ridiculed and taunted him. Many people are probably thinking a fight so clearly provoked although certainly unnecessary hardly calls for Blount being suspended from the team for the whole season maybe 4-5 games at best, however I beg to differ for one reason and one reason only – Accountability.
